Mein persönliches Highlight - und das vieler anderer -, war der überraschende Auftritt der Toten Hosen. Nach 16 Jahren nahmen sie wieder mit einem eigenen Wagen am Zug teil. Und es wurde wirklich gut geheim gehalten. Man sah von weitem einen Wagen mit viel Qualm, dann hörte man die Musik - Bonnie und Clyde. Ich dachte noch, geile Musik haben sie auf dem Wagen, und dann sah ich die Jungs auf ihrem farbenfrohen Wagen. Leider gab es da natürlich keinen Stau im Zug.

My personal highlight - and that of many others - was the surprising appearance of The Toten Hosen. After 16 years, they took part in the train again with their own car. And it was kept very well secret. From a distance you could see a car with a lot of smoke, then you could hear the music - Bonnie and Clyde. I thought they had some great music on the car, and then I saw the boys on their colorful car. Unfortunately, there was of course no traffic jam on the train.

Ich war nie ein Fan der großen, sehr politischen Umzüge im Rheinland. Aber dank Jacques Tilly, unserem genialen Wagenbauer, habe ich meine Meinung geändert. Seine politisch - satirischen Wagen sind immer weltklasse und er schafft es zu aktuellen Thermen auch kurzfristig noch einen Wagen zu bauen. Kein Thema ist zu brisant und entsprechend lang ist die Liste der umstrittenen Motivwagen, die vor allem aus den Ausland schon zu häufigen Protesten führten. 

Mein persönlicher Favorit ist Angela Merkel als Schwarze Witwe.

Dummerweise hatte ich kein Weitwinkelobjektiv mit, sodass ich die Wagen nie komplett aufs Bild bekam. Ich werde es mir für nächstes Jahr merken.

I was never a fan of the big, very political moves in the Rhineland. But thanks to Jacques Tilly, our brilliant coachbuilder, I have changed my mind. His political - satirical cars are always world - class and he manages to build a car at short term even at short notice. No topic is too explosive and correspondingly long is the list of controversial motive cars, which led, especially from abroad, to frequent protests.

My personal favorite is Angela Merkel as Black Widow.

Unfortunately, I did not have a wide-angle lens, so I never got the car completely on the picture. I will remember it for next year.
