Mit dem Bus zum Lichterfest nach Amsterdam- Das Wetter meinte es schon mal nicht gut mit uns. Bei Nebel und Temperaturen um den Gefrierpunkt warteten wir auf den Bus, und warteten, und warteten......

Durch einen Anruf beim Veranstalter erfuhren wir, dass es auf der Autobahn eine Vollsperrung gegeben hatte. Schock - das konnte ja noch dauern. Erstmal eine Runde Heißgetränke. 

Mit einer Dreiviertelstunde Verspätung ging`s dann los. Hätte schlimmer kommen können. Im Bus tauten wir langsam auf, der Nebel blieb leider unser ständiger Begleiter und auch Amsterdam erwartete uns im Nebel. 

Somit wurde der erste Programmpunkt, die Aussichtsplattform auf der Bibliothek, ersatzlos gestrichen und wir bummelten Richtung Hard Rock Cafe. Zum Glück lockerte der Nebel langsam auf, aber richtig klar wurde es leider den ganzen Tag nicht.

By a call with the organizer we learned that there had been a full closure on the highway. Shock - that could take some time. First a round of hot drinks.

With a forty-five minutes delay, we started. Could have been worse. In the bus, we slowly thawed, the fog was unfortunately our constant companion and also Amsterdam expected us in the fog.

Thus, the first program point, the viewing platform on the library, was canceled without replacement and we strolled towards Hard Rock Cafe. Luckily, the fog slowly faded, but unfortunately it did not get really clear all day long.

Dann ging es weiter mit einer Grachtenfahrt, um die Lichtinstallationen vom Wasser aus zu sehen. Also Amsterdam immer wieder, die Weihnachtsbeleuchtung in der Innenstadt ist wunderschön. Aber vom Lichterfest waren wir enttäuscht. Nett, aber nix besonderes. Ich finde nicht, dass sich ein Besuch extra dafür lohnt.

Then we went on a canal cruise to see the light installations from the water. So Amsterdam again and again, the Christmas lights in the city center are beautiful. But we were disappointed with the festival of lights. Nice, but nothing special. I do not think a visit is worth it.

Pünktlich zum Ende der Grachtenfahrt, kam dann auch der angekündigte Regen. Zum Glück nur ein paar Minuten, sodass wir doch noch trocken durch das nächtliche Amsterdam schlendern konnten.

Just in time for the end of the canal cruise, then came the announced rain. Luckily only a few minutes, so we could still stroll dry through the night Amsterdam.
