Kaiserswerth

Kaiserswerth ist ein Stadtteil im Norden Düsseldorfs. Ich beschloss, das herrliche Wetter auszunutzen und mit dem Schiff hinzufahren. In der Düsseldorfer Altstadt ging die Fahrt los.

Kaiserswerth is a district in the north of Dusseldorf. I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and drive by ship. In the old town of Dusseldorf the trip started.

Nach einer gemütlichen Fahrt bei herrlichem Sonnenschein erreichten wir nach 45 Minuten Kaiserswerth.

After a leisurely drive in glorious sunshine we reached Kaiserswerth after 45 minutes.

Direkt am Rheinufer befindet sich die Ruine der Kaiserpfalz von Kaiser Friedrich Barbarossa. Ursprünglich aus dem 10. Jahrhundert war die Pfalz unter Kaiser Heinrich III. ausgebaut und zwischen 1174 - 1184 durch Kaiser Barbarossa erweitert worden.

Das blöde an spontanen Ideen ist, dass man dann ohne größere Planung losfährt - zumindest mir geht es so. So erfuhr ich dann erst in Kaiserswerth, dass die Kaiserpfalz noch geschlossen war. Öffnet nächste Woche. So konnte ich leider nur von außen ein paar Fotos machen, aber habe einen Grund nochmal wiederzukommen.

The stupid thing about spontaneous ideas is that you then go off without much planning - at least that's how I feel. So I first found out in Kaiserswerth that the Imperial Palace was still closed. Anschließend noch ein Bummel durch Kaiserswerth und dann mit der U-Bahn zurück nach Düsseldorf.

Then another stroll through Kaiserswerth and then with the subway back to Dusseldorf.
